Schacht Tapestry Loom
Loom shown on table stand which is not included with the loom.
This simple loom holds a continuous warp under tension; sheds are formed through the use of heddle bars and string heddles; only 2 heddle bars are needed for traditional tapestry weaving but 4 are included with this loom so beginner weavers can experiment with 4 harness weaving. Allows a 60 inch long warp to be put directly on the loom.

"Love it. Warping it right now. Made my own floor stand. Made a bar at the top of loom, 26 3/4” long, 1” sq. with cotter pins every 1/4” and laid 2 warp threads between each pin. Making an 8 epi. Works good. Ordered two Navajo weaving books that just arrived today. So far really nice. Not disappointed. Good price. Good quality. Steve."
"This tapestry loom needs some adjustments or improvements, e. g. the tension bar, a type of addition from the inside that would stop the heddles from sliding of their place."
"This is what I decided on for my first loom, largely because it's low-profile, relatively lightweight, and can accommodate 4 heddle bars. I'm very happy with it. Putting it together went smoothly (full disclosure, I'm a regular Ikea shopper, so assembly is my forte), and it feels solid. The warping instructions it came with were clear and had some helpful troubleshooting tips. The tension bar is mildly challenging--you have to turn two separate nuts, so it's easy to have tighter tension on one side than the other, but it's easy to understand what's wrong with your tension & fix it if you made a mistake. I got it without the table stand, which was a mistake. This loom can be leaned up against something, but my workspace doesn't have a good area to actually do that, and sitting on the floor got difficult quickly. I ended up jury rigging a stand with wing nuts + bolts + string + some leftover 1x. 5 boards from a woodworking project. It's working just fine, but is not an attractive solution. I highly recommend getting this with a stand."
"This is probably a good loom but when I started putting it together there was a defective thumb screw that sent me on a search to hardware stores. None had what I needed and I bought something similar once I got top on started to put remaining together all I had were dowel rods no tension bar. I had two parts that didn’t go with loom. I called Woolery and they graciiously accepted my return I will by again from Woolery but not that loom"
"Assembly went well. The directions for warping were clear. I am unhappy about how the top bar fits. When I go to tension the warp, only one screw can be in contact with the frame at a time. The other one slips, making it impossible to tension. I am really disappointed for the price of this loom. It looks like the holes were drilled in the wrong location."
"I received the package a few weeks ago to take on a trip to Alaska, where I would be working for a few weeks. After arrival, I unpacked and assembled the loom as well as the frame. The quality and feel of the wood were comforting and the clear directions allowed ease of assembly. I watched a Youtube video to see how to warp it. That was pretty simple. It is now up and running, and fairly easy to use. It is the first table loom I have used, so I can make no comparisons. I was surprised however that it was not too much more difficult to use than my floor looms."
"Very pleased with the quality of the product. Had some questions about warping the loom correctly and there were youtube videos available and also answers from customer service. Thanks."
"Quality craftsmanship. Easy to put together. I usually weave on rigid heddle looms so this is challenging to set up, space the warps and figure out some of the finer points. The small booklet included is only helpful up to a point. The Blick videos are pretty basic and skim over stuff. I messaged both Schacht and Woolery for more info and did receive replies. I maybe should have started with a more basic Tapestry loom but will persevere to learn how to use this. I mainly bought it for learning how to weave shapes and do color blocking and changing for weaving hangings and other fiber art."
"I wanted this medium sized loom because it gives me the ability to use heddles to create more than one shed n my weaving. I have tendonitis in my wrists, which was aggravated by having to manually lift the warp threads with other looms. This is perfect for me."
