The Schacht Inkle Loom is a loom every weaver should have. It is great for weaving belts and bands.
Inkle looms are great for start-up weaving programs because they require little additional equipment, are easy to use and understand, and are easily stored.
The Schacht Inkle loom is built with years of heavy use in mind. It has one open side for ease of warping. The tension bar has an easy grip knob for adjusting the warp tension during weaving. Warps can be up to 4″ wide and 8.5′ long.
Note: The clever folks at Schacht have figured out that you don’t even need to tie string heddles any more! The 220mm Texsolv heddles (GLI-100-220/12) are the perfect size for use on this loom when folded in half.

"First Inkle loom for me. I love the ease of use of this loom. I carry it room to room so I can weave while making dinner or doing laundry. Sitting on my back porch listening to audiobooks and weaving on this loom is so relaxing. Easy to warp with the texslov heddles. Making new straps for an old tabletop loom I am rehabbing."

"I've owned or tried all the major manufacturers' inkle looms, and own several from small makers. None are as sturdy, well built, or easy to use as the Schacht. If you like to keep your warp tight while weaving without worrying about loom's pegs bending, it is definitely the best option. I wouldn't say anything bad about the other manufacturers, but there is no comparison. The Schacht is by FAR better built and better quality. Mine was a gift, and I bought another for my sister in law."
