Really nice reed. It’s so
"Really nice reed. It’s so smooth that it won’t catch the warp. I’m using on a vertical loom for tapestry weaving. It helps keep the warps orderly. Thx"

Stainless Steel Reeds (which are rustproof) are stronger and more durable than carbon steel reeds. Stainless steel is also known as INOX in Europe. If you are interested in any sizes not listed (we do not list them all), please call.
In determining the length of a reed to buy, understand that the lengths we specify are the approximate weaving widths, not the actual length of the reed, which will be approximately 0.75 to 1.0 inch longer. Examine how your reed fits in your beater to determine if total length is critical (normally critical when, in addition to the top and bottom rails, there is some type of vertical support on each end of the beater that restricts total reed length).
Different looms handle this in different ways. You can determine your weaving width by measuring the inside of your harness. Don't order the wrong size reed. If in doubt, call us - 800-441-9665.
Note regarding height: all reeds are approximately 4.75" to 5" high and will fit most looms. Almost all beaters have adjustments for the bearer rails that allow different heights.
The measurements below are Weaving Widths - Remember to add @ 0.75" to 1" to determine the total width of the reed.
NOTE: During the manufacturing process of stainless steel reeds, machine oil is used as a lubricant. Your new reed may contain remnants of this oil. Mineral spirits (hardware store / home center) or 99% isopropyl alcohol (first aid section of drug store, pharmacy or grocery store) can be used with a rag and/or soft bristle brush (old toothbrush works great) to remove any machine oil present.
Some reeds may have one OR two end bars. This style may vary from reed to reed and does not affect the functionality of the reed itself.
**Dorothy prior to 1980 takes a 15" Reed
***Schacht Table looms only have a maximum of 1/2" tolerance. The total width of the reed can only be 3/8" wider than the weaving width. Please order these reeds here.
Note: Items with a shipping length of 47” and longer are subject to a surcharge, regardless of the shipping method selected. (Fee is imposed by the shipping carriers.)

"The reed is nicely made and fits well in my Ashford 24-inch table loom. The only problem is that there is a protective metal bar at only one end. Wires at the other end could be easily bent it if it accidentally bumps into something. The Ashford reeds have a protective bar at each end. But since a 15 dent Ashford reed is not available, this reed is a good option, and it has worked great in my weaving projects."
"The reed arrived well packaged and quite quickly. Nice heavy construction and fits my Baby Wolf perfectly."
"Quality reed with smooth surfaces. Nice addition to my set!"
"This reed is well made. Quick Delivery. Can’t wait to use it!"
"I have not used it yet as I had to design a thread bobbin bin and thread rattle to wrap the thread warps onto the warp beam. Once I get that warp beam completely wrapped, I'll make a video of threading the heddles and attaching to the front material beam and on I will go with weaving fabric! I'm excited about it and revel at the thread reed I ordered from your company. I'm VERY happy you had it in stock! My videos are posted on Youtube. com and are published to air in the format of their site. You can either search "Tevna Leydecker" or "Warp" to see them. Have a GREAT weekend! TtlL 3/26/26"
