Louet Spring II Floor Loom

The Louet Spring II loom is one of the most innovative cleverly designed floor looms on the market today. It uses the Parallel countermarch system for the harnesses and lams, which is easy to use and simple to tie-up. An exclusive feature to the Louet Spring II is the patented moving breast beam controlled by springs. The breast beam is attached to the loom in such a way that it is free to move toward the harnesses when the shed is made and then back toward the weaver when the shed is closed again. The distance between the breast beam and the back beam actually changes during weaving. With this system a larger shed can be obtained with less tension increase in the warp and less effort from the weaver. Purchase the Louet Spring Loom for sale today!

The heddles and tie-up cords are of the Swedish Texsolv system, which make them quite strong and non-stretching.

Ergonomic Improvements

  • Advance more fabric in one movement of the handle, due to a new magnet.
  • The brake disc of the warp beam acts as a crank, with a handle that turns in the disk.
  • The shafts move more easily, as rollers with ball bearings have replaced the nylon rollers.
  • The beater movement has a larger radius and improved arc due to longer uprights and a lowered hinge point.
  • Clamps that aid in warping the loom, as well as warping instructions, are now included.

Design Improvements

  • Overall sturdier frame with new front posts and thicker main uprights and foot rail.
  • The warp beam and cloth beam are now made of wood and are a larger diameter, the redesign in this section now allows for easier assembly.
  • Heavier ratchet wheel and ratchet, ideal for weaving carpets.
  • Easier to place the new countersunk holes onto the floating breast beam arms.
  • A more attractive look on the hinged connection of the floating breast beam arms to the front posts, due to a less visible connecting bolt.
  • Loom is now packaged in a more compact way, cleverly designed to expand and assemble. All boxes ship with courier, so no freight transport is needed. All shafts and cords continue to be pre-strung.

Spring II

"This loom has become my new favorite loom! It did take some time to put together, but instructions are very clear. I went with the 12 shafts, and the shafts are assembled when they arrive. Shipping caused a small parts issue, but Louet sent the replacement piece right out. It is solid and easy to treadle. I do find it a comfortable height, as I am 5’ tall. As with any new loom, you get used to the differences. The center handle on the beater bar is one, as it seems natural now. It is my second Louet loom, and the high quality is consistent. Very happy with this purchase!"

Very user friendly loom

"I received my Louet Spring II loom while recovering from shoulder surgery and was afraid that I would not be able to use it. So far, while working on dressing my loom the use of the built-in raddles and slide on covers have helped to keep things in place. The ability to warp it while standing eliminates most of the leaning and reaching that I used to do with my previous loom. I look forward to many projects with this wonderful gem of a loom."

Spring II

"It said that a poor workman blames his tools. So is it true that a great tool makes a better workman? I think the Spring II loom by Louet proves that. This loom is making it a breeze to dress. No more bending or twisting for this aging body. Everything is done at eye level. I can’t believe my perfect selvedges and the lightness of treadling. The loom arrived in perfect condition, the parts were extremely well machined and everything you need to assemble was included. Even the clamps to hold the reed while sleying were included. Thank you Louet for helping me become a better weaver and I thank the Woolery for keeping in constant contact with me during the long wait for shipping from Holland."

It's Perfect

"I have an original Spring 110 and decided I had room to stuff in a second if I went with the 90 width. I just can't say enough about how much I love this loom. The things that were fiddly on the old Spring are all improved on the Spring II. Adjusting the beater height and adding/removing heddles, for instance, are super easy now. The 3"" shed is great, plus the ability to weave 8"" before advancing is also nice, The brake system is great and my husband, the person in charge of winding warps while I apply tension, loves it, declaring it much easier to wind. The front face of the castle is taller and perfect for post-its and taping on patterns ;-). It was also pretty easy to put together. I did it myself, with the assistance of a Louet produced YouTube video and the printed instructions. The only thing to prepare yourself for, if you know the old Spring, and like me like to use the top of the castle for keeping your accessories on, is that you need to remove the castle ""lid"" to pin and un-pin the harnesses, so I've made the castle-top ""installations"" temporary, instead of altars to permanence ;-) Honestly, I love I so much I'll be saving up to replace my old one with this new model. When you read the list of modifications to the new model, each one is noticeable and awesome. They just knocked it out of the park."
