This unique fiber blend of Polwarth, Mulberrry Silk and Yak takes dye well and makes a great base for dyeing and spinning.
Polwarth fiber is a fine wool breed. After crossbreeding Merino and Lincoln sheep a new breed was established in 1880 in Australia. The new breed was called Polwarth and is 3/4 Merino and 1/4 Lincoln.
Mulberry (Bombyx) silk is the world's finest silk, prized for its incredible luster, fineness and strength.
Yak fiber is soft and smooth with wonderful hand. It is combed or shed from the yak and then dehaired. The result is a splendid downy fiber similar to that of the camel.
