Description
Product of the Mallotus philippensis tree native to tropical India. It is an Ayurvedic plant, and used in traditional medicine. The dye comes from the seeds of the tree, which can grow up to 75 feet in height. Kamala needs 1% soda ash added to hot water in order to dissolve fully, and works best with protein fibers such as wool and silk.
