Handspun Hope
Handspun Hope was started in 2007, after the executive director and founder, Diana Wiley, heard a presentation in a church from an African Hospital worker, who shared the experience he had with poverty in his community. Handspun Hope strives to bring those in Africa out of poverty, through education and job employment. Handspun Hope now works primarily in Rwanda working with local churches, organizations, and leadership to create sustainable enterprise for women in Northern Rwanda.
Handspun Hope makes and sells handspun Ethiopian cotton yarn, bags, totes, and clothes. They make Mapenzi skirts and Mapenzi wrapped pants, they also make hand-smocked dresses for children 6 months to 8 years old.
