This textbook has been out of print for some time and has become very hard to find. The new edition includes all of Johansson's original text and photographs. These detail the history of double-harness weaving and offer instruction in a wide variety of techniques and setups, including Smålandsväv, opphämta and damask on the ten pattern-shaft drawloom, the use of weaving swords, and pickup.
The new edition also includes a 16-page appendix by Vävstuga drawloom teachers Becky Ashenden and Amy Blair. The appendix offers discussion of more advanced damask structures, as well as an overview of the equipment and materials available to today's weavers.
