-These wrist warmers are a super simple design that is a perfect stash busting project! Emma had some yarn leftover from the shawl she made with a ball of Poema Tweed, so she came up with this crochet pattern for a set of wrist warmers to use up the little she had left. 

Emma's Wrist Warmers Crochet Pattern

Pattern Notes: You can adjust the length by adding or using less starting chains. 

Finished Size: ~6.5"

Materials:

- Sport Weight (3) Yarn; Emma used around 25g of Poema Tweed - Grey / Ochre / Red - 504 (~25g) She just used what was leftover after making the Southbay Shawlette

- 5.5 mm (I-9) crochet hook
- Needle to weave in ends

Stitches (US terms)

CH = Chain
ST = Stitch
SC = Single Crochet
DC = Double Crochet
SLST = Slip Stitch
SC 2 TOG = Single Crochet 2 Together (decrease)

Pattern

Ch 31
Row 1: SC in 2nd Ch from hook to end of chain (30)
Row 2: Ch 2, turn, 1 DC in each ST to end of row (30)
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, 1 SC in each ST to end of row (30)
Row 4: Ch 1, turn, 1 SC in each ST to end of row (30)
Row 5-22: Repeat rows 2-4

Fold work in half and match corners. SLST through both layers in the next 15 ST 

SC next 8 ST on one side only to form thumbhole opening

SLST the last 7 ST through both layers to end of the row

CH 1, SC around the top of the wrist warmer for a finished edge, SL ST into first SC, fasten off and weave in ends.

Optional Thumbhole Cap: 

Fasten yarn onto thumbhole opening at top of hole (toward hand opening). 

Creating the cap: 8 SC down unfinished edge (The edge you didn't crochet up when joining the two sides together) to bottom of hole, then 6 SC up the other side of thumbhole, CH 6 and SLST to 6th SC from bottom directly on the other side 

Row 1: 1 SC in each CH (6)

Row 2: CH 1, SLST to next SC on side of thumbhole, 1 SC, SC 2 TOG, SC 2 TOG, 1 SC, SLST to next SC on side of thumbhole (4)

Row 3: CH 1, SLST to next SC on side of thumbhole, SC 2 TOG, SC 2 TOG, SLST to next SC on side of thumbhole (2)

Row 4: CH 1, SLST to next SC on side of thumbhole, SC 2 TOG) SLST to next SC on side of thumbhole (1) 

Fasten off and weave in ends.
