Bebemoss kits use organic cotton and hypoallergenic stuffing from recycled bottles and are assembled by a community of over 120 moms in and around Istanbul, Turkey. Many are impoverished locals, others are refugees from Syria and Afghanistan. The artisan moms are provided the flexibility to work when and how it works best for them. Everyone sets their own schedule. Job training is offered for women who are new to crocheting. The cheerful studio has a dedicated play area for anyone who needs help with childcare. Some of the mothers prefer to work at home in order to they balance family life with their craftwork.
