Leclerc Compact Floor Loom

This jack-type floor loom is light but solid, and easily movable when folded. It is especially designed for workshops and demonstrations. To fold, slightly unscrew the two handles on the sides of the loom and slide them up. It can be folded without trouble even after weaving has started. It is built with six treadles for easy tie-up, and can be converted into an 8 shaft loom, by adding 4 shafts (and 4 treadles). Order today and experience the quality of the Leclerc Compact Floor Loom.

Equipped with a 1 7/8" (4cm) regular plain beam, to which a set of rake-like pieces (sectional warp beam) can be added. The rake-like pieces (sectional warp beam) must be screwed directly on the beam, without extension. The circumference of this sectional warp beam is 15" (38cm).

Faulty friction brake, otherwise perfect

"Amazing loom. I have had issues with the friction brake simply now working and skipping every time I beat it, regardless of how tight it is, or how lose I beat it. Other than that is the perfect loom and I love the small size and the ability to fold it up even when there is a warp on it."

LeClerc Compact Loom

"A dandy small portable/sampling loom! While I already have a dobby loom, I realized that I needed a small floor loom for projects that aren't necessary dobby friendly (embroidery weaves, or manual laces such as spanish lace). My first floor loom was a LeClerc L Model (12 Sh/14 treadles, 45""), I also have an 8 sh 15 "" Voyageur table loom, and I've had my eye on an 8 sh Compact for a while. These looms are made in Quebec and ship directly from there in about a week. It arrived in two boxes - one for the castle and shafts, the other for all the other parts. [Be aware that anything LeClerc packages is packaged VERY well - lots of staples and hot glue - so it can take a while to open the boxes. ] LeClerc also includes: a threading hook, boat shuttle and one bobbin, two ""square"" drivers, an adjustable wrench, 600 10. 5"" wire heddles, a 12 dent stainless steel reed, and a drawstring cloth bag holding the various bolts and other hardware. The only item not included was a #1 phillips screwdriver (needed for the treadle ends when changing tie ups). The loom doesn't include a bench, but Woolery's ""Rosie's Weaving Bench"" works very nicely. After weaving on large looms for so long, weaving on a small loom was quite a change, and I made a few changes. I bought 200 more heddles (50 each for shafts 5 to 8). I added two canvas aprons, which make it much easier to ensure warps are ""square"" to the loom, along with some Texsolve I had on hand to connect the warp rods to the tie-on rods. I bought several dozen 48"" lath strips from Home Depot, cut them to 23 1/2 inches and sanded them thoroughly to use both as warping sticks and spacers on the cloth beam as cloth builds up. NOTE - while the Compact looks like a Baby Wolf, it's not the same, in that the Compact's front and back beams are thicker, and the angles when fully open are different (Compact's is 40 degrees). Also note that only 10. 5"" wire (or inserted wire) heddles will fit - 10. 5"" texsolve will NOT work (since those are effectively 9. 5 "")."

Wonderful loom

"I love my new loom. I bought the 8 shaft LeClerc compact loom and couldn’t be happier. The Woolery was so helpful and they made everything so easy. I highly recommend this loom for everyone, but especially for disabled people like myself. I have a huge loom, but the reach of throwing the shuttle, and warping that loom has gotten too difficult for me. This compact loom is so much easier for me. I am so impressed and I thank The Woolery for providing such a large inventory of options. You cannot get better customer service either."
