High Speed Double Drive Whorl for the Double Drive Traditional, Double Drive Traveller, and Elizabeth 2 spinning wheels.

For best results while spinning, use this whorl with the Ashford High Speed Double Drive Bobbin. 

Note: This whorl will not work with all vintage Ashford wheels. If your wheel has a flyer and whorl set that the whorls screws onto the flyer this does not fit. This only fits the friction fit flyers.

Make sure you get the compatible bobbins!

"Important- to use the highest speed on this whorl, you need the high speed double drive bobbins, or it does not behave properly. I have made it work, but it does not take up evenly like it would with the proper bobbins. The middle speed still works fine as it's larger than my bobbin groove. Other than that, there is a slight misalignment on my whorl, so it doesn't attach perfectly straight. This doesn't seem to affect anything, but it's worth mentioning. I'm bummed that I have to buy new bobbins to use this whorl as intended, but I am still spinning much finer than I would with the standard speed whorl. Just be aware that additional parts are needed."

Mostly great

"It spins very quickly and smoothly. That part is great. It's also workable in scotch tension mode, which most double drive compatible whorls aren't. also great. The only downside? It protrudes out slightly farther, so there's a bit more stress on the flyer bearing than I like to have to account for. I have an Ashford Traveler 2"

More speed . . .

"I bought this to increase speed on my wheel so I could spin finer yarn. It does the trick. I have an old old Ashford Traditional, and this whorl did not work with the screw-type shaft on my original flyer. . . but it did fit the D-shaped shaft of the Ashford Jumbo Flyer I bought last year. That made fine spinning fun and plying trouble free. It was nice that a new drive band was included with the whorl."
