Wool Rag Rug Blanket Yarn
This is for one ball of yarn, the pictures are to show the range of colors one might receive when purchasing this yarn. We do not offer samples.
The Woolery is pleased to partner with Ragged Life so that we can offer their 100% wool blanket yarn derived from selvedge recovered from British woolen mills in and around the Yorkshire area. Ideal for rag weaving, peg loom weaving, locker hooking and a whole host of other creative uses.
Each ~250g (~8.8 oz.) ball is already cut into a continuous strip making it ready use when received. Sometimes you may want to split the strip into smaller widths to accomodate your project.
In addition to the striking appearance, each ball is environmentally friendly as it would otherwise be destined for a landfill as production waste.
Elspeth Jackson has established herself as one of the leading rag-ruggers in the UK and continues to push the boundaries of what can be done with upcycled rags. In 2014 Elspeth founded her company Ragged Life to sell rag rug homeware, fashion, and art. She now sells rag rug starter kits and runs rag rug workshops across the UK. Elspeth is the author of Rag Rugs, Pillows, and More and Rag Rug Techniques for Beginners.
We are unable to accommodate specific color and/or pattern requests within a chosen color family.

"The blanket salvage is a novel idea. It looks nice enough. HOWEVER, there isn't a measurement on the balls so it's far from being enough. Weight doesn't tell me what I need to know as they are all different thicknesses so fill different lengths. They are too pricey to keep getting more and more. I will be cutting up an old army blanket to finish this project. I won't be doing any more crafting with this item. I'd rather be able to choose the colors better also."
"Writing another review because i discovered another excellent use for this wool! I made another beautiful rug! Unfortunately, can't seem to upload picture. I used a twining loom and the rug was a quick and easy project."
"These balls of wool selvage are perfect for shirret rug making! Pre cut wool strips cuts the work in half! Colors are beautiful, service excellent."
