Schacht Baby Wolf Loom

The Schacht Baby Wolf is the most versatile small floor loom available today. It has all the advantages of portability while maintaining the best big loom features. If compactness and portability are what you are looking for, you’ll be interested in this thoughtfully engineered loom.

The weaving width of the Schacht Baby Wolf is 26". You have your choice of four or eight shafts, or you can choose our Four Now+Four Later (4N4L) model which allows you to expand from four shafts to eight shafts at any time. The X-frame design is exceptionally stable and can be easily folded to a depth of 18". The adjustable beater allows the position of the shuttle race to be raised or lowered if necessary. The Baby Wolf Loom employs a friction brake on the warp beam which lets you advance the warp smoothly.  The height extender option lifts the breast beam up 2" to a height of 31.5".

"Four Now + Four Later"  is an eight harness loom shipped with only four harnesses installed, but with the capacity to add an additional four harnesses. You can purchase a kit to add four harnesses at a later time. 4+4 looms are shipped with all the heddles, tie-ups and other items normally included with an eight harness loom. Add this Schacht Spindle loom to your cart today!

My new Baby Wolf, shipped

"My new Baby Wolf, shipped from Schacht, had some problems. Woolery staff person Amy Judd worked tirelessly with me to get the issues resolved. She was persistent in nailing down the issues and communicating with Schacht. Without her, this would have been a much different experience. Thank you Amy!"

Beautiful loom

"Love it, but it was sent with the wrong reed! Still waiting on the replacement. Fits easily in the space I wanted it for. Looking forward to the stroller attachment on back order so it can be easily moved when folded."

I loved my Schacht Mighty

"I loved my Schacht Mighty Wolf for almost 20 years. Then we had a house fire and my Mighty Wolf was scorched beyond repair, although I tried. When we rebuilt, I got a shed for my weaving/sewing studio, and since I'm almost 80, I downsized to a Baby Wolf. My only problem is adjusting to the smaller size, although it fits me better. I have only woven two projects on it, one really a practice test rather than a project, and I'm loving it more and more as I adjust, and get back in the grove after almost a year and a half not weaving at all. It's the loom for me, now, since I'm 4'10"" and a bit weaker than when I started weaving years ago. I plan on being able to continue to weave into my dottage on this smaller loom."

Excited about my loom

"I’m excited to get started with my loom. It did take a while to arrive but the Woolley kept me updated. One note of caution though—it arrived via FedEx Freight which I was not told. You have to call FedEx yourself to arrange delivery and they do not deliver to all areas! So if you know you cannot accept a freight deliver at your residential address be prepared to have to pick it up yourself where ever FedEx says. It did ship directly from the factory and when it arrived it had a very strong and bad smell of wood. I had to hang bags of coffee beans on it for a month before the smell went away enough that I could actually get close and handle the loom without triggering a migraine. I did not expect that since I’ve never had this happen with furniture. It also has some dents in the wood and some blobs of what looks like glue I had to peel off. That was disappointing for such an expensive product. The pieces were all there and it was pretty easy to assemble."

Baby Wolf Loom

"I have been weaving on a floor loom from the 1940s for 25 years. I did not realize the difference s a new loom makes!! For my 80th birthday I purchased the Baby Wolf and it is wonderful."

My First Floor Loom

"Thanks Woolery! You made the purchase of my first floor loom quick and easy! I love the loom and it is working great! I changed from the metal heddles to Texsolv heddles. Thanks for making that easy to do by indicating which Texsolv heddles fit which loom on your website."

8 Shaft Baby Wolf

"Love my 8 Shaft Baby Wolf…the Woolery was excellent in their attempt to get my loom back to Schacht factory for a needed repair…It is now here and I have warped for a set of tea towels."

Woolery experience

"I purchased the Baby Wolf Loom for my daughter who has a minor in weaving and is trying to start a weaving business. My sales contact at the Woolery was extremely understanding and helpful during the ordering process since I know nothing about looms and dents, etc. My daughter has been extremely happy with the loom. She said she had no problem with the set up. The loom also folds up if she needs it too which is great for her working space. but she set up right away, no issues and has been weaving since she got it. She absolutely loves it and says she will be able to weave pretty much anything she wants like she did on the large floor looms at college. So, highly recommend this."
