Big Box Charkha Wheel

Charkhas are the perfect wheel to use for spinning fibers with short staple lengths such as cotton, silk, angora or any fine fiber. 

This Big Box Charkha is larger than the Book Charkha and Box Charkha which makes spinning on it a bit easier and faster.

Everything folds up into a case that has the contours of a hardback book. Ideal for spinning short staple fibers such as cotton or lamb's fine wool into fine yarns. Also good for silk, angora, cashmere, dog hair, or any fine fiber.

Note: this product is a true charkha wheel handmade in India. As such, each wheel will have slight cosmetic differences. While these charkhas are made of teak, they cannot be expected to have the same fine finish an American spinner is used to seeing in western wheels. Very nice equipment

"As explained in the item description, this is a charkha made in India. Therefore, it is functional rather than elegant. In The true spirit of Gandhi. Think simple often recycled materials that still have use and life and work just as intended. Everything you need to start spinning cotton and other short staple fibers is included in this large case. . . even an attachable swift for skeining! I was much helped in the learning process by a bit of YouTube viewing. The spinning process is very much like a great wheel or other quill based wheel. This was my first experience with this type of spinning and this wheel was a great introduction at a reasonable price."

charkha amazing and easy.

"this is my first charkha and the set up was simple. it arrived on Christmas eve. YAYA and I am excited to spin cotton that i ordered with it!! The only thing is. There is extra pieces with it and the video link does not work. i want to make sure I'm doing everything right. it is amazing! I do recommend this product!"
