"For the value of what is included, this kit is a good value. The products are well made and of nice wood. I haven't tried the carders yet. I take away a star because I wish the spindle had a notch for passing the thread in as I saw this in many tutorial videos and this Ashford one doesn't have it. I also really wish the fiber was bagged and labeled. The carded wool, locks, and silk all comes loose in the box and I have no idea what is what."

"Absolutely stunning kit for a beginner. The instructions are clear and include example photos to follow along. The instructions include the goals of each step- which is very helpful to know if you’re completing the steps correctly (e. g. this is to align fibers). Additionally, the kit included a catalogue of other fiber arts materials, which listed the benefits of various tools and when you might use them. This is an AWESOME kit for beginners, and makes a daunting craft so approachable. I have already spun 16” of yarn with my new kit and I am hooked on a new hobby. FABULOUS KIT!"
"This kit is a fantastic introduction to spindle spinning, starting from carding! The carders only are worth the whole price. The choice of fiber is high quality and very thoughtful - it will make you fall in love with making your own yarn (hint: it is much easier than you might think!).
