18 Towels on Four Warps - One Tie-Up
Author: Carol Berry
Carol Berry gives four variations on a turned twill threading that yields eighteen different designs. General guides are given for the set-up, then it is up to the weaver to determine the colors used and the number of repeats in each block. While detailed instructions are not given for each towel, the color photographs show the variety possible with each warp and encourage the weaver to experiment. Includes all weaving drafts.
Requires a loom with a weaving width of at least 24" and a minimum of 8 harnesses.

"Interesting booklet. I am considering a weaving project and this will come in handy with my planning."
"I purchased this booklet to hopefully provide me some examples of 18 different towels I could weave on my new 8 shaft loom. I am a little disappointed because the booklet does not actually provide detailed drafts for 18 different towels. It provides warping drafts for four different warps, which all use the same standard turned twill tie up (as the title indicates). However it does not provide detailed treadling for each of the 18 towels shown in group photos. For treadling, some of the drafts show a basic repeat, or simply say to treadle as threaded or ""change block heights and colored weft stripes"" without showing what was actually done in the 18 example towels provided. This means you cannot replicate the 18 towels shown in the photos, but you will have enough warp length to design your own 18 towels on these warps. The books could perhaps be more accurately titled ""Design Your Own 18 Towels on Four Warps, One Tie Up. "" You can certainly use this as a jumping off point if you want to be creative and design your own towels, but what I was hoping for what detailed drafts for the 18 towels on the 4 warps. I appreciate that the author wanted to share her projects and create this booklet, but I felt a little mislead by what I was going to receive by reading the title and description. It is useful, but does not provide the level of detail I had hoped and expected it would. I wanted to share this review for others considering it so they would know what to expect since no previous of any part of this booklet is available from what I could find."
"These patterns were made for a Julia 8 shaft loom, but if course can be used on any other 8 shaft looms. The directions are clear and the towels very pretty."
"Parfait , seulement comme précédement , je croyais que c'était pour un 4 cadres. Mais cela va m'être utile."
