Targhee is a domestically grown wool that is processed in the United States. The Targhee breed was developed at the Experimental Sheep Station in Dubois, Idaho in the mid 1900's. The foundation stock were ewes of Rambouillet, Corriedale, and Lincoln bloodlines bred back to Rambouillet rams.
Lofty, elastic Targhee yarns are ideal for cozy, soft and resilient fabrics that feel luxurious and wear extremely well. Targhee will also felt extremely well.

So soft
"Just started spinning this and couldn't be happier. Love the feel and draft of this fiber."
So Lofty and Squishy!
"This top is so squishy soft! I prefer grey Corriedale in general, but this has me adding a new favorite to my rotation. I tend to spin worsted prep a lot, so this helped me try more woolen spinning techniques! I ended up dyeing it during the finishing process. I hope to make some fingerless gloves in a holiday color scheme! Worth a try!"

"This targee top has very fine crimp but it’s deceptive because it catches a lot while spinning from the fold and creates neps. I changed to a short backward draw and found it much more pleasant."

Love targhee, this top is nicely processed
"Targhee is my go-to middling wool, when I want something soft that will also wear well and spin easily. This top has little or no VM, and is not felted or overly compressed. I love it."
Fine Fiber!
