Add comfort and warmth to your weaving bench with one of these covers.  A recent study by the University of Veterinary Medicine in Austria concluded that Reindeer Fur pads were the best (for saddle pads). "Only the reindeer fur pads significantly decrease the MOF (Maximum Overall Force) & and improved pressure distribution". 

Supplied by Gealtan AB, a family owned Sami business in Sweden.  These pelts are CITES and EU certified. The Sami (Saami) are indigenous inhabitants of the northern regions of modern day Norway, Finland, Sweden and the Kola Peninsula of Russia. Often called Laplanders in English, the Sami are probably best known for reindeer herding.

Looks much better in person

"I wasn't sure what to expect from the online photos, but this is a really nice pelt for the price. The shape fits my Rosie's bench perfectly. To prevent it from slipping and overtightening the cords, I applied leather conditioner to the under side of the fur. I noticed it was a bit dry and paper-like. With some wax/leather conditioner, it becomes a bit more skin-like and the conditioning is also good for reducing abrasion. It's now completely solid on the bench. Comfort is great, it's just about the right thickness. I don't feel like I'm sitting on a couch and it feels very stable and grounded. It's soft enough, but not mushy. Definitely much better than just wood. Special attention should be paid to the direction of the grain/fur. If you put the cover on with the fur facing backwards, you'll be more likely to slide forward, especially with a tilted bench. Mine is tilted and it's not a problem at all once it's on there correctly."

"This cover is the perfect complement to my Rosie’s weaving bench! I did put some non-slip shelf liner under it to keep it from slipping, but the cover provides just enough softness to prevent numbness in my legs."

Exceeds my expectations

"Bought this cover for my LeClerc Rocking Bench. The cover is incredibly comfortable. It provides just enough cushion without adding height, is cool when it's warm in my room and warm when it's cool. My bench seat is deeper than a standard loom bench so the attached Texsolv cords were not quite long enough to fasten, but I just added a couple of extra pieces of Texsolv cord I had in my studio and ""spliced"" them in to make the cords long enough. Once attached the cover doesn't slip or move at all (and neither does my rear, LOL!) There is absolutely no animal odor. The natural colors are gorgeous. Worth the money, it's an investment in your art and your comfort."
