These Lap Stands are designed to elevate the project hoop above the lap allowing the user to have both hands free to work on the project.
The unique feature of this Lap Stand is that it is collapsible. Each stand is composed of two hoops (10" and 14" diameter), held together by three (3) supporting rods which space the hoops 4" apart. Simply invert the Lap Stand to work with either sized hoop.
Both hoops feature a no-slip surface and when unassembled, the whole system is less than an inch in height, easily slipping into your project tote bag. Great for storage, classroom work or traveling.

"I particularly like Morgan lap stands as it is an amazing stand for those who like to stitch outside the home. An added bonus is that you are able to use either hoop size (granted, if you have your fabric in the larger of the two it isn't as stable as when you are working in the smaller hoop since in the former case it is resting on a base with a smaller circumference). Additionally, it is one of the few stands that won't break the bank, plus it disassembles simply into parts that are easy to store. The only drawback is that you can't stitch as close to the edge (only where the posts join the hoop) as you can with a normal hoop, so you should plan to add an extra three to four inches to the size you would normally plan to buy or you will end up having to adjust the placement of your piece in the hoop while stitching. It can't keep your fabric taut forever, but it is able to sustain the tension for the amount of time comparable if not longer than other hoops."
