Lojan Warping Frame 9 yd
"This frame caught my eye for a very specific reason. My wife received as a going-away gift some years ago an oak easel on wheels with a generous sill. It was meant originally as a TV stand. The image on the Woolery site is the same one used on the manufacturer's, and you can see these frames are meant to sit upright on the edge of a table. But with a hard foam block for support at the top, the frame clamps easily and securely to the sill of our stand and gets firm support at the top as well. So in this respect, the Lojan frame was perfect for my particular needs. As for the frame itself, it is made in a factory in Poland. I had to sand it with finishing paper and take a round file to a few of the holes, then finished it with linseed oil and beeswax. I have a 30"" rigid heddle loom and prefer a 9 yard frame to the smaller or larger frames on the market. The frame is sturdy. I wondered immediately, though, if the larger Lojan frame in particular would be stable enough mounted upright on the edge of a table. If you examine the image closely, you will see that the clamps are round, meaning there is minimal surface area between the clamp and the underside of the table. If you have the same question, maybe the Woolery can help with an answer."
