Developed in Wales during the early 1800's, Lleyn are now found throughout the UK and are primarily raised for meat. The British Wool Board classifies Lleyn as a medium grade wool.

Lleyn wool is sometimes described as similar to a BFL in softness and a Border Leicester in strength.

It's insulating properties and texture characteristics make it an ideal choice for a variety of weaving, knitting or crochet projects.

Suitable for dyeing, spinning, weaving, knitting and felting.

I was expecting it to

"I was expecting it to be kind of bad given the price, but it turns out this wool is delightful. It is still soft enough for say, a scarf, and very cooperative to work with, not fussy at all with a smooth and relaxed draft. I do not recommend spinning singles with this stuff however as it does not splice easily and DOES draft apart easily. You will get weaksauce singles. Nevertheless I give it five stars for being so so nice to work with."

Another lovely sheep wool breed for spinning

"This surprised me with have nice a spin it was. I would make a vest with this when it is spun into yarn."
