The Swinging beater uses a similar design as the standard beater but incorporates another pivot point that allows the reed and battens to swing in relation to the swords. This pivot point at the top of the beater allows the weaver to always keep the reed perpendicular to the warp threads regardless of the beater position.
Compatible with Voyageur, Diana, and Dorothy models.
Please note that the 15 3/4” Dorothy loom changed a little in 1996. Older models are about 3/4” smaller than the newer ones, despite having the same name "15 3/4” Dorothy. Leclerc will still make parts for the older looms, but the default swinging beater is one built for the newer looms. Leclerc produced 2 different models of Dorothy. The old one is 15" weaving width and the shaft frame outside width is 16 1/16". The newest one is 15 3/4" weaving width and the outside width of the shaft frame is 16 7/8. This product is NOT compatible with the "old" Dorothy loom.
