This is 13" long and come with a wooden pirn. A special tension device allows the weaver to adjust the tension for each type of yarn. The yarn feeds through the tension device quickly and easily.

Unfinished and Rough
"As an earlier review mentioned, the wood is unfinished (not a big deal at all, in my opinion), but the wood itself is also rough. While it has been sanded during manufacturing, the entire thing needs more once you get it. Otherwise, it's going to snag on your yarn. For this price, there's no excuse for them to make you the one to finish their work."
Little rough around the edges
"Beautiful designed shuttle that works well, I have found that it holds tension on my larger yarns, like red heart, and smaller yarns. I was disappointed to find that the shuttle was unfinished, no stain or lacquer. It also had several places that required touching up with sand paper. Nothing major, but it was catching on the yarn. The pirn that it came with was finished with a lacquer, but was also rough and requires sanding."
End feed shuttle
"The Leclerc end feed shuttle has a smooth finish, the pirns wind well and the shuttle itself rides beautifully on tight warp ends. I am weaving a 49' wide woolen blanket and the selvedges are coming out nicely when I use this shuttle without having to pinch them and adjust the tension on the weft by hand. I am very happy with the purchase."
