With all the same quality Kromski craftsmanship of its larger counterparts, the Prelude offers a unique characteristic of compact portability to those who want a wheel reminiscent of the antique Saxony style but need the convenience of a small, transportable wheel for events like historical festivals and reenactments. With a diameter of 18", the Prelude is suited to perform in many different speeds/ratios.
The Prelude was the first single-drive-only wheel that the Kromski's produced and features Scotch Tension and a single treadle. The oblique bench links to a built-in lazy kate with a two bobbin capacity. Affordably priced and easy to assemble, the Prelude is a perfect beginners wheel but is occupied by components and attributes sufficient enough for a lifetime wheel.

"I adore my Interlude. It has everything I wanted in my first spinning wheel, and is beautiful to boot. Its petite size is perfect in my small hone studio. The Woolery’s customer service is always so helpful and supportive in answering my questions!"
"I am a new spinner and all I can say is I am in love. This wheel is beautiful, the craftsmanship is of such quality, and the walnut color is gorgeous. Shipping was super fast and the customer service is outstanding."
"This is my first spinning wheel, and it is easy to work, quiet and a lot of fun. The design is beautiful and the size is perfect for a small apartment. It is light weight and easy to move and store. I highly recommend. The wheel shipped out and arrived faster than I expected."
"I was able to put this together immediately when it arrived. I put it together myself with the tools included and the photograph instruction. The most challenging part was running the tension string and I am still not sure I have the string wound around the peg properly. Spinning is a piece of cake with the Prelude. I am a beginner and have only tried a drop spindle and a friends pollywog, both of which I was not very good at using. The Prelude just was easier and after a few failed tries as I had to adjust the tension, I finally got it right for me and Spinning is easy. After trying a few different spinning wheels and a spindle, I have finally found the style that works best for me!"
"I have had my prelude for about a year now and I love it dearly. I don't have a large space to work with, so the prelude size is perfect for me. It's beautiful and well made. I have had no problems working with it and will continue to use it for years and years to come."
