Tracing their history to the Hebrides (a 500+ island archipelago off the west coast of Scotland) today's Hebridean sheep are descendants of flocks that were relocated to the English mainland in the late 19th century.

Best known for the dark, lustrous color, Hebridean wool is suitable for outer garments and blankets.

Suitable for spinning, weaving, knitting and felting.

Hebridean love

"If you enjoy working with primitive type wool this one is a pleasure to spin. It was a bit, ok alot, sheep stinky but a good airing helped and the final wash of the skein cleared the air. I have made 3 skeins of sock yarn so far and love it. The conservation sample bundles are a great idea. I love doing breed studies. I will be working on thid bump for a long time to come."
