Tensioning device for warping 22" - 50" Harrisville Floor Looms. Especially useful for weavers who warp alone. It allows for the option of putting on more or less drag depending on the type of warp and the requirements.

"I love Harrisville's tensioning device. I originally used it at the Harrisville Designs weaving class but did not have a loom. Once I purchased a LeClerc 8 harness through the Woolery, I knew I also needed this! This device allows me to take long and wide warps by myself to dress the loom evenly. I very effective tool for dressing the loom."

"I bought the Harrisville Tensioning Device to solve a specific problem I was having; I was warping my loom front-to-back with linen warp for a 40 inch wide wool rug, and was having trouble getting good tension on the warp. The Tensioning Device helped solve my problem, and I would say worked as advertised. It is easy to assemble and the design is well thought out. I ran into two problems, which were not the fault of the device. I was using it on a Glimakra Standard loom and the back beam was too thick for the clamps provided. I found other clamps to use, but I also had trouble with the clearance of the clamps and the sectional beam on my loom. I'm giving the device 4/5 stars. The reason I'm only giving it 4 is I felt like I was really pushing the boundaries of it's capacity. I was using it to wind on about 200 ends of linen warp. The cross bars were flexing pretty good and I felt like they were on the verge of breaking. I'm not sure how it would work on a project that required more warp. My feeling is that I bought a 50"" device so it should be able to handle 50"" of warp. I don't think that's the case."
