Batches vary tremendously.
"I ordered four bags of this. The first one broke a lot, didn't spin at all, well, frayed constantly, and clung to everything around me. Even wet-spinning didn't help much. About halfway through the bag, I managed to get a lumpy but constant thread out of it. Bag number two made a bit of a mess, but spun a lot more smoothly, I'd hazard that by the time I was through bag number two, i had produced something that almost counted as thread. Although, once plied, it'll be lace yarn. Bag number three handles so much better. Fine, smooth, and simple. I know some of that is that I have practice at controlling it now, but that's not all there is to it- the fibers don't stick to everything around me the same way, and there's a lot less short and broken bits when I pull out a handful to work. If working nettles, be prepared for variety. Also, for the record, nettle fiber behaves much better spun counterclockwise, unlike my usual experience with wool. I've heard that wool works better twisted clockwise- never been able to tell the difference. This stuff, however? This stuff, it matters. Counterclockwise, or nothing."
