Made for the hobbyist, but still does a great job! Ideal for those who aren’t processing large amounts of wool. This bench picker is always handy - you can keep it in the house or take it with you. A little safer to operate than a traditional swing picker and it latches when not in use to protect little fingers. You don’t have to worry about the "safety” lid coming off in transport or knocking your knuckles against the nail heads.

Great picker, one flaw.
"My one complaint is the bearings. I spend a great deal of time cleaning the fibers from the bearings. They do a great deal of good for a smooth operation, but also great at grabbing fibers and binding up. I am not an engineer and could not recommend a method of preventing this build up. Currently I employ administrative controls by limiting the inputs to very small amounts. Adds time to the process but is faster than removing the bearings to clean out the fibers."

Don't expect miracles
"I was hoping to use this to clean out most of VM and open tips of very dirty wool fleeces. Discovered that the fleece must be washed first, otherwise the box did not open the fleece well at all."
