"My (very) old darning eggs were lost when we moved; I bought this as a replacement. I've used it to repair felted slippers & darn the toes & heels of hand knit wool socks. The handle at least half an inch too short; it gets lost in the leg of a sock. The egg is a bit too pointy and doesn't fully support the shape of a heel or toe while repairing."
