Dark Grey Faroe Island Wool Top
It's believed that this breed was originally introduced to the Faroe Islands by Norse settlers during the time of the Vikings. Over the centuries the importation of sheep from both Iceland and the Scottish Isles has resulting in a better quality of wool and improved meat production.
The Faroe Islands actually take their name from the Old Norse word for sheep, faer.
The striking natural colors of Faroe Island wool makes it an ideal choice for spinning, felting and other crafts. Similar to the Scottish Isles, the Faroe Islands have long been known for their knitted wool clothing.

"I am a Southwestern Tapestry Weaver and i spin most of my own yarn. I have tried many varieties of sheep’s wool and I tend to like some of the older double coated breeds like Navajo Churro and Icelandic. This Faroe Island Wool is great. It spins so easily and has a a fairly soft feel for this type of wool. I have ordered it twice and I hope you continue to carry it. I will be ordering more. Curious, is it available in a lighter shade? (Cream, natural white?)"
"Beautiful fiber!!!"
