Chestnut (Castanea sativa) is a native to Southern Europe and used historically for tanning leather. On fibers, chestnut extract yields a soft yellow which is excellent for combining with other colors or over-dyeing with indigo. 4 oz. of Chestnut extract will dye approximately 1 lb. of fiber to a medium shade.
