This sturdy 4" empty cardboard spool for sale will fit most current standard spool racks. Use a double ended bobbin winder or you may modify your single ended bobbin winder (wrap with tape) for winding.

"I use these for all sorts of temporary storage of handspun singles when I'm not ready to ply but still need my spinning wheel bobbins freed up. I also wrap miscellaneous threads like leftover weft from weaving projects and have even rewound a very unruly ball of knitting yarn onto one of these spools and put it on my tensioned Lazy Kate, which allowed me to knit with the yarn under good control. Very reasonably priced and useful."
