51 Yarns to Spin Before You Cast Off

Author: Jacey Boggs

51 Yarns is a fun, detailed list of spinning adventures every spinner should embark on. Packed for the long haul with vital information, tips, tricks, and trivia, it’s an essential travel companion for a spinner's fiber trek across a lush topography of breeds, techniques, materials, and approaches.

At 5.5 x 8.5 inches, it's big enough to contain 51 formidable feats but small enough to throw in a spinning basket. And like all PLY publications, we’ve printed it on paper hearty enough to withstand trips to spinning circles and guild meetings, transcontinental hikes, vine swings, late-night spelunks, or to just sit in your library awaiting the next endeavor.

Written by Jacey Boggs Faulkner and illustrated by Kirsten Slade, you will love reading this book and checking off the yarns as you go along.

A fun book

"I purchased this book to follow Along in an online class. It's a fun way to discover different types of yarn and explore the possibilities. Actual pictures of the explained yarns would have been nice. I appreciate the space allowed for talking notes. Very helpful."

One of the soon-to -be classic books on spinning

"This book makes my list of core essential bookss on spinning. A great gift for a new or experienced spinner, it is like a recipe book on a myriad spinnning techniques. Like a Joy of Cooking for spinners. It is one book I would not part with if I had to pare my large collection of spinning books down to an essential few. Delightfully illustrated and techniques are clearly and simply explained. Another excellent publication by Ply Magazine's Jaycee Boggs Faulkner."

JUDY D. (5/5)

I would have liked more

"I would have liked more specific info about where to find detailed instructions for spinning each kind of yarn. More bibliography? Otherwise, I liked the book. Lots of inspiration."
