Bobbins Up | Change The Way You Store, Ply and Spin

"BOBBINS UP" an answer to all of your spinning storage problems. "BOBBINS UP" is going to change the way you store, ply and spin your singles.

  • The bobbin has the capacity of 5+ oz. of fiber ◦ Your singles can be plied right from your lazy Kate because the bobbin has a built in whorl for tension! (the only one on the market!)
  • The only tool you need is a drill or a power screw driver.
  • Made of strong plastic material that is totally recyclable

"BOBBINS UP" also works perfect on any two ended bobbin winder if you have one! *Are they hard to use? You simply slip the bit into your power screwdriver or drill, then slip the bobbin onto the bit. Tie the end of your single on to the bobbin. You can now guide the yarn off your spinning wheel bobbin onto "BOBBINS UP" with your finger. You can load a 5 oz bobbin in a couple of minutes.

Can I ply my yarn from BOBBINS UP? Yes and we might add with great ease. The bobbin has a built in whorl on the end so you can simply place your tension cord from your Lazy Kate over the whorl end of the bobbin. NO worries about "back lash" if a yarn breaks.

NO SPINNING OUT OF CONTROL! If you need a drill/screwdriver to use your "bobbins up" you might want to check out RYOBI TEK 4. Is a bright green in color, comes with a case and charge and is CUTE ;o) It runs at the perfect speed for hand control when filling bobbins.

You can find a cordless drill at your local hardware store from $10-$40.

This is the best invention to come down the pike in a long time; it eliminates most of the excuses for lazy plying by making it easier to ply correctly. If you only have 1 bobbin of singles, you can wind off half onto a storage bobbin, gauging by eye, and then ply easily from 2 bobbins. No more plying from 2 ends of a center-pull ball, with the resulting snarls and the need for a friend to help straighten it out! Admit it; you’ve done that, but now you don’t need to. And did I mention, INEXPENSIVE too!

    Good Idea

A good alternative to center pull balls. It is made of relatively thin plastic so based on the previous reviews, I got an inexpensive electric screwdriver, you don’t need much torque. Walnut is rally just a blah medium brown.

    Game Changer!

Posted by Victoria on Jul 6th 2018

These are one of my favorite things! Bobbins are pricey and spinning for a large project requires many bobbins. These bobbins are affordable and extremely functional. When planning to spin my sweater for Rhinebeck (1500 yds ish of a 3 ply) I invested in 10 Bobbins-up bobbins and couldn't be happier. They work great with my Lazy Kate for plying - they actually spin better on my kate than my "official" bobbins! I wouldn't be without them-

    excellent solution /alternative

Posted by Lisa on Jun 29th 2018

I purchased 6 many months ago,and have all good to say . Absolutely does the job and is a viable alternative to having many
bobbins for one or if youre like most spinners two or more wheels- It can get really pricey. I think its good form to aim for 3 regular bobbins if your wheel didnt come with 3. Yet, you'll find you want more as your techniques grow. Does a fine job:)

    UPDATE to 5 stars!!

Posted by Rachel on May 11th 2018

I left a previous review with 2 stars because one of the bobbins broke the first time I used it. The Woolery shipped a replacement out right away, before I even thought of returning the item. What fantastic and responsive customer service! The first bobbin must have had a fluke defect, because I have had nothing but great success with these bobbins ever since. I highly recommend them!

    Nice idea. Not strong enough

Great idea and good price. Unfortunately, the part that attaches to the drill broke the very first time I used it.
