Did you know that April 25th is International Amigurumi Day?
Originating from Japan, amigurumi refers to the creation of crocheted or knitted stuffed toys, often in the form of animals, characters, or objects. These charming creations have captured the hearts of crafters worldwide, offering a delightful blend of creativity, skill, and endless possibilities.
To celebrate the occasion we're sharing some of our favorite kits, yarns, books, and more!
1. Omega Sinfonia Yarn
This yarn is by far one of our favorite yarns to crochet amigurumi with and has quickly become a staple here in the shop. It's 100% mercerized cotton with a cable-ply construction so there's very little splitting. What makes it really great for amigurumi is the extensive color palette with over 60 colors!
Our most recent creation with Omega Sinfonia is this orange using a free pattern you can find here. We used the colors: Mandarina, Hueso, and Naranja in Omega Sinfonia and Wicket in Sirdar Happy Cotton

2. Hardicraft Kits
These kits have everything you need to make an adorable figure minus your favorite hook! And whether you're gifting the kit itself or the final product, whoever receives it will love it. We've added several new kits recently, including our first knitting kit! Browse the entire Hardicraft collection here.

3. Rosie's Safety Eye Tool
Sometimes snapping safety eyes on can be tricky, so we have a nifty little tool to help!
Check out this short video on how it works!
4. Crochet Cute Critters by Sarah Zimmerman
Perfect for beginners, this book has 26 patterns for creating adorable animals from alligators to zebras. Keep the as a desk or bookshelf buddy or gift them to a critter loving kid!
5. Sirdar Happy Cotton
Happy Cotton is a 100% cotton DK yarn that comes in 20g balls, making it perfect for small multi-colored projects, or projects were you need just a tiny bit of one color. This yarn comes in a range of 50 colors from pretty pastels to vivid brights.
There are also a number of corresponding pattern books to get your creativity flowing! Find them here.
6. Purple Heart Ergonomic Crochet Hooks
Perfect for crocheters whose hands cramp up easily, especially during long and complicated projects. The size of the handle adds to comfort when using a small hook size. While the hook is wood, the feel is comfortable and smooth.
The world of amigurumi is wide and the possibilities are endless. We're constantly adding new books, kits, and accessories to our shop, so be on the lookout!
