Ashford 8 Shaft Table Loom

Popular because they are portable, easy to use and so versatile, the Ashford table looms are in demand with both beginner and experienced weavers.

Choose from 3 weaving widths. The four and eight shaft table looms fold flat, even with your weaving in place, making them ideal for taking to workshops or guild meetings. The overhead beater, with automatic bounce back, gives a wonderful shed and even beating. Levers are within easy reach for comfortable weaving. Each shaft can be lifted simply and quickly and is independent enabling a wide variety of patterns to be woven. The solid Silver Beech hardwood is lacquered for long-lasting good looks. Non-slip rubber feet give extra stability. Swedish stainless steel reed and lightweight Texsolv heddles are included. Plus there are a wide range of options and accessories available. Order your Ashford 8 shaft weaving table loom today!

The new shuttle race eliminates shuttle diving and makes weaving quicker and more enjoyable.

Very nice, but not for me - wish I could return it

"Quality is top notch, instructions easily understood, shafts are sturdy. The only issue I have is the shuttle race is finicky and I still drop the shuttle through the warp. Also, sadly, learned that this type of weaving hurts my shoulder due to the height. Even on a table the loom is too high and I have to reach too far, ergo causing shoulder pain. I considered the table, but it's ridiculously too expensive for what it is, so I built my own to fit my sitting height. That has helped, but I do miss my treadles and lam tie up system on my old floor loom. And this sucker is heavier and more awkward (32") than I'd anticipated so not really portable."

Great value - especially for those who want to take their weaving to the next level!

"I really like this loom! As a new weaver, I wanted something reasonably-priced, but allowed me to do more than what I can with my rigid heddle loom. It was fairly easy to assemble, but it did take several evenings. I love the feel of it and the motion of the levers that control the shafts is very smooth. I took the time to color my heddles with markers to delineate each shaft (next time, I would just dye them different colors). Anyway, threading is a breeze. It took me awhile to find the right height since I’m 5’2” and have a short upper torso. Since the loom sits about 6” higher than your tabletop, it can be a challenge to sit comfortably and still see over the top of the loom. The fold-down capability is very smooth and will come in handy. Now I feel like a weaver! I would definitely recommend this loom!"

Love my new loom

"So excited to finally get my table loom! It sturdy and well made like all of my Ashford products. The assembly instructions are well written with video links to help. The warping process is quite different than my rigid heddle, but again, the instructional videos are excellent. Weaving on this loom is wonderful."

Pleased

"We used online tutorials for help in putting it together. Very well made. The biggest struggle is to find patterns for the loom - they seem to be floor loom patterns or rigid heddle patterns. . . . . The loom itself - I couldn't ask for anything better - it's all user error at this point. I'm looking forward to being able to find patterns for table loom beginners that isn't yet another scarf. . . . . . something with a short warp! Thanks for a quality product! . . . . ."

Fantastic quality

"I took a 2-day rigid heddle weaving workshop and decided to dive right in to a table loom after that! The 8-shaft, 24” table loom is a great fit for seemingly endless projects. The loom itself is finished beautifully and was straightforward to assemble, if a little time consuming. The Ashford tutorial videos on YouTube, especially winding a warp and the 2-part series in warping a loom, are very helpful as well. I’m already in my second project and can’t wait for many more!"

8 shaft Ashford table loom

"I needed a new table loom and finally settled down for the 8 shaft Ashford because you get the most for your buck. It took me a few hours to put it all together but the instructions are easy to follow. For my first project I ran into some user issues that easily could be resolved by watching a you tube video on how to thread the loom the best. My first weave was a narrow silk band and the heddle bouncing back on its own was perfect for it. The next item is going on today. Initially I was looking for a 4 shaft but decided to upgrade right away for just $50 more, it just makes sense. Highly recommended"
