Leclerc Gobelin High-Warp Tapestry Loom

Modeled after the looms in the "Gobelin" school in Paris, this particular set-up can be used as a tapestry loom or for making rugs. The 2 shaft version has two shafts, a beater and two treadles to make the shed. The warp can obtain a very high tension by tightening two heavy screws located on each side of the loom. The 0 shaft version is a very sturdy tapestry loom and you can add the 2 shafts later. The loom is six feet high and has a depth of 20". 2 SHAFT GOBELIN LOOM (Type 2)

NO SHAFT GOBELIN LOOM (Type 0)

A very simple loom, completely vertical.
Material is stretched from one beam to the other, like the tapestry made in the "Gobelin" school in Paris.
This standard loom does not have any beater nor shaft and is used for warp tapestry weaving with string heddles or finger manipulation. A very high tension can be put in the warp by two heavy screws placed on each side of the loom. These screws lower the bottom beam. The rods that hold the warp are inserted in the beams.
