End Feed Shuttles

End Feed Shuttles

End-feed boat shuttles use a special tensioning device that keeps your weft yarn under constant and consistent tension, making for less drawn-in and better selvedges. End-feed shuttles use a stationary pirn instead of a bobbin that spins freely in the shuttle. Pirns are wound in such a way that the weft yarn unwinds from the tip of the pirn only when the shuttle is in motion.

This type of shuttle is popular among industrial weavers, but they can make a great addition to your weaving tool kit as your skills improve and move on to more complex projects!
