The Irish Hook
During the mid-nineties, Neville Smith’s tools were known everywhere as the Hartman Hook, and are now known as The Irish Hook and is now located in South-East Ireland. But his story starts in 1988, Smith had a customer come to ask if he could make a rug hook. At the time, he was making fine reproduction wheels and spinning accessories. Soon, when the demand in rug hooking arose, he had less time for spinning wheels and so making rug hooks became his main source of income.
The Irish Hook makes rug hooks of different sizes and handles, some of these handles include Ergo, Ball, Slim, and Pencil.
