Excellent versatile wheel
"I have had my Flatiron for about a year now (purchased from Woolery). This is an excellent wheel (I also own a Matchless, which is also excellent). It has the widest ratio range of any Schacht. I have the bulky maiden and flyer, which also works well for plying. I just spun lace weight using the high speed whorl & bobbins. The assembly instructions are excellent, but the wheel is still challenging to put together. No wine during assembly! It is also not heavy as the wheel is not wood. The offset treadles took a little time to get accustomed to, but now it is normal. I think I prefer having the orifice off center too. This is an excellent wheel and value."

Schacht Flatiron Spinnig Wheel is a Dream!
"I'm learning to drive on a Cadillac, but boy, is it enjoyable! I'm new to spinning, learning via videos, but I wanted to be able to do the whole range of yarns from frogs hair to art yarn, and this wheel will do it. So far, I can do BOTH in the same skein! Oh Yeah!! So, that was my first skein, but now I'm getting better and my yarn is more uniform each day. I have a practice of spinning every morning for an hour, that way I don't loose the feel of what went right from the day before. Loving the practice - its so satisfying and confidence building, and I can't wait to get really good at the end product!"

My first do-anything spinning wheel.
"For 50 years, I spun on a simple cottage spinner. When I decided to spin finer yarns (silk, qiviut) I chose this wonderful wheel. I am 75 but I put it together all by myself and learned about all the parts along the way. Although it is not a compact wheel it is quite lightweight and easy to tuck into the car. Thanks to Woolery for the excellent advice and support."
