Designed by Sharon Perry, this beginner rug hooking kit is a great for gifts or a great way to get introduced to rug hooking. The kit come with backing, pattern, and pre-cut wool, coordinating binding yarn and rug hook.
The finished rug would make a great wall hanging, trivet, table centerpiece, candle or teapot mat when completed. Lots of people hang these hand hooked mats from old cupboards or make little pillows out of them.
The sunflower is hooked with two dyed golds and an over dyed chocolate plaid for the center. The background is hooked with mixed hand and mill dyed greens hooked at random.
Please note, true to the primitive “make-do” roots of the rug-hooking craft, these kits are made of overdyed wool, and the colors will not always exactly match the photo.

"The kit was great! I started teaching my niece rug hooking with the kit this weekend and some of the wool seems not to be 100% wool and there might not be enough. I told her to come to the shop in Frankfort if she runs out. She may need a hook with a wider shank too. Thank you for the beginner kit."
