Do not get the lighted version!
"We purchased this for my wife who has some vision issues. Upon receipt, the lights just barely worked. It turns out one of the batteries was swollen and nearly dead. After buying replacement batteries, we can get the lights to work with the unit disassembled but, as soon as we put it back together, the lights stop working. Also, one of the batteries starts to warm up a bit. A deeper look shows that the battery terminal (just a wire) may be shorting across the battery. So, poor design and build quality for the lighting portion. The rest of the magnifier is very well made - sturdy and optically clear."
