Starting a new hoppy with a Cricket!!!

"I was so excited when my Cricket arrived. I had borrowed and 10" Cricket from a friend and loved it. It was my first time weaving. Unfortunately, she requested it back and I decided to get one of my own. I went with the 15" to give opportunities to create various size projects. I am planning to order other reeds as I plan to use various thread sizes. My first project on my new loom will be a scarf. So exciting!!"

Perfect for adults or children

"I have purchased several Cricket Ridgid Heddle looms from the Woolery not only for me but also for my grandchild and great grant child as well as myself. I have had so much fun using my loom that I decided they would make perfect gifts for the '""grands"" so they could make creative and unique gifts for their teachers and friends. I taught for 30 yuears and never got such a thoughtful gift!"

Couldn't be happier!

"I got inspired to try real weaving by renewing my acquaintance with the little potholder loom I remember from my childhood. Researched the different types of smaller looms and decided that a rigid heddle loom would be right for me - not too large, not too small. Decided on a 15"" Schacht Cricket. Five plain weave scarves later, I am ready to try houndstooth check and plaids, and have ambitions to try making garments. I couldn't be happier with my little loom, it is well made - in the U. S. A. -- and easy to use."

Couldn't be happier!

"My first loom was a potholder maker I had as a child. My second loom was also a potholder maker, and it inspired me to search farther into the world of weaving. I settled on a rigid heddle loom and the Schacht Cricket. Four scarves later I am looking forward to trying the Houndstooth pattern and going on to constructing unique garments. All due to my little 15"" Cricket - a well-designed, sturdily made-in-the-USA gem of a loom. I couldn't be happier with it."

Great loom! I have purchased 3 of them.

"This is the 3rd Cricket rigid heddle loom I have purchased. I bought the first 10” Cricket for myself when I started weaving classes. My 8 and 10 year old granddaughters wanted to learn to weave when they saw me doing it so I ordered 15” Crickets for each of them for birthdays. The 10 year old already is warping and weaving on hers with some assistance. The 8 year old will get one for her upcoming birthday. (She’s precocious; I don’t think she’ll have a problem using it, but it might be challenging for some 9 year olds. ) l also have Schacht Flip rigid heddle looms for myself in larger sizes, but the 15” Cricket is a nice size to start on; it’s very portable and large enough to do towels and scarves. A lot of the online classes use the Cricket to demonstrate techniques on. The only con is that you can only use 1 heddle on it, but there are work-arounds for that and when you get to that level you will probably want to add a larger loom to your collection anyway. Now I have ideas for future Christmas/ birthday presents; stands, different heddle sizes, yarn, and other accessories! The Woolery has been a wonderful weaving resource and the customer service has been great. They are quick to answer weaving questions and they have many free videos and a blog with projects demonstrated. The photo is the first scarf my granddaughter made with the yarn that comes with the loom. She had my guidance, but she did the actual warping and weaving herself."

Third Cricket loom purchased

"I have enjoyed my 15"" Cricket loom so much that I ordered a second one for a friend who can't afford one and one for use in the assisted living unit in the retirement village that live in. These two ""extra"" looms will help me use up my yarn stash."

15"" Cricket Loom

"I have multiple looms, but I have found since I got my 15"" cricket that I am using it almost exclusively BECAUSE I can weave scarfs using the ""warp becomes weft"" technique easily with this loom. It is small in size which allows a small scarf to. be woven which is like a continuous circle around the neck and across the shoulders. I liked it so much that I purchased a second one for a friend to use with my yarn stash. The loom was easy to assemble; however, the second one was much faster because I used a more efficient way than the instructions indicated to put it together."
