A hardened and highly tempered steel wire that is remarkable for its longevity & uniformity. Comes in a continuous 39" length. You cut it to fit your Rug Hooking Frame.
Notes: When cutting the gripper strips for rug hooking frames to length, work from the back side of the strip. Mark a line for the length desired, and from the back, carefully pry out any of the teeth that lay across that line; It is awfully difficult to cut the teeth. Then, using a utility or razor knife, cut the rubberized canvas backing.
To install the backing, make sure that the teeth are pointing in the correct direction; they are directional and will only work one way. When you stroke across the gripper strip from the inside of the frame to the outside, it should be smooth and not stabby. When stroking from the outside of the frame inward, you will feel tiny little stabs. A staple gun that shoots small staples is the ideal tool for fastening the gripper strips.

"Rosie's Gripper Strips ares awesome! Holds the fabric in place. My husband made a frame for my rug punch needle and it was easy to cut and attach with the right tools, tin snips and a staple gun."
"I’m new to the hooking system. As a reenactor I’m interested in learning old skills/crafts. So when I started out on this path it was like 👍, I can try this, maybe 🤔. So with the help of another reenactor we built a hooking frame with the gripping strip that was purchased from Woolery. The gripping strips are easy to apply, a little bit of a hassle to cut when needed but otherwise serves the purpose rather well. The product arrived in a timely manner. For anyone who is looking for an alternative to purchasing a premade frame, consider making one yourself. You might surprise yourself and make something even better with the right products. The teeth hold the foundation fabric in place. Helping with the quality of the finishing project. Had to purchase another roll for a later project!"
"These work perfectly for making my own frame. They were a little difficult to cut down to size but once I got them on my homemade frame they work great keeping my rug in place. Very good quality and much more economical then buying a whole system"
"I purchased Rosie's gripper strips from the Woolery. The quality is great and the customer service that The Woolery provides is top notch. They are my first choice for rug hooking supplies. I usually receive my order within a few days."
"I am so impressed with the monks cloth and the gripper strips! 10/10 would buy again!"
"Truly love these grippers. Work great. No issues."
"Holds the fabric nice and taut. Like it much better than a hoop. I sew strips around my piece to tack it down. Haven’t bern brave enough to tack my actual fabric piece to the strips, although I know some people do. It depends on the type of fabric you are using. These strips come in different sizes for different fabric."
"I love these. I use them for my large projects. I build out a frame and then attach them. They work perfectly for my monks cloth and tufting cloth. I will never go back to carpet tacking strips. Well worth the money."
"Quick service. The grippers work very well."
