Fleece - English Leicester Longwool - White
This Conservation Breed was at one time the most common sheep in England. They almost became extinct in North America in the 1930's and 1940's, save for a few in Canada. Thanks to the efforts of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation in the 1980's the breed is making a comeback in the US with stock originally imported from Australia. Leicester Longwool is a joy to spin due to its staple length, strength, wavy crimp and luster. Takes dyes exceptionally well and is suited for next-to-skin garments.
