"I use tow for cleaning and wading, separating the black powder charge from the lead round ball and a second wad to hold the ball in place. This was common so long ago."
"I use tow to clean my guns in an early manner. This is what I need. It's not easy to find in large quantities."
"Not much to say about Flax tow. I use the tow as an all natural wadding and cleaning material in my primitive style flintlock musket restoration and shooting hobby. If you want to keep with 18th century period correctness, you will need flax tow. If you need tow, you should know about Woolery. com. The Wooley provided me with this great stuff at the best price I could find anywhere. They want to make sure I’m satisfied. I sure am. Nice to see a company that is mindful of customer satisfaction."
"I purchased flax from The Woolery to use in my 61 caliber muzzle loader. I put a small amount between the powder and ball and another small piece over the ball. It is easy to use and does a great job. I plan to use it for cleaning the black powder from the barrel, having read it works well for this too. The Woolery is a great business too. Prompt with the order."
"I use this material for wadding in my flintlock firearms. It works great and a pound of it goes a long way. Great, quick service as well. Highly recommend the material and the company."
"My purchase of flax tow was to be used as an accessory to a flintlock rifle. Tow, being a durable fiber, can be used to remove the carbon buildup in a black powder rifle. Better than a patch that’s used then discarded, tow can be reused and is historically correct as it was a common fiber in the 18th century. This tow is perfect for the job, consistent in texture and is highly recommended in the muzzleloading community. Would I be corny saying this is the go to tow?"
"This was a gift for my husband for cleaning his guns. He thinks it is great !!"
"Just what I was looking for"
"Excellent quality and was perfect for my project concerning the 1700's French and Indian War period. Highly recommend the Woolery."
