This mat is ideal for using with the Felting Needle Tool. For appliqu̩e, just place the motif over the base fabric and pierce lightly with the felting needle tool. Insert the needles vertically; they should not touch the base of the mat. The fibers will become interlaced, attaching the motif to the fabric beautifully. The bristle length provides the ideal hardness and density for punching. Overall base is 6.25" x 4.5"; needle felting surface is 5.2" x 3.25". Total height is 2.75".
