Joy 2
"I recently decided to try out spinning. I chose the Ashford Joy 2 based on other reviews I had seen and especially because of its portability. Assembly was straightforward, but does take a little bit of time. As a new spinner it was a little difficult to get started, but that has to do with never having used a spinning wheel before generally and not the Joy 2 itself. Once I started to get the hang of how the process worked I could tell that the Joy 2 spins like a dream. And when I’m not spinning it’s easy to fold up and put away and does not take up much space at all."

I've had the Ashford Joy
"I've had the Ashford Joy for about a month and a half now and I'm so pleased with it! I had a little bit of a learning curve with how frequently it wants to be oiled, but when the bobbin & footman are well oiled, it spins like a dream."

100% recommend
"Absolutely love my Joy 2. It was a gift from my father and I couldn’t be happier. It’s my first wheel and I’ve made everything from lace weight to bulky art yarn on it. It treadles easily, with excellent tension control. I take it everywhere I go! I can pack it up in under 30 seconds, regardless of what part of the spin I’m in, be it single, chain ply, two ply, or more. If you’re on the fence, just go for it. It’s pre assembled and easy to use right out of the box."

Wonderful folding wheel
"I've only been spinning on her for a few weeks, but so far I love this wheel! Very easy to fold for storage and the carrying bag works well. I love the smooth double-treadle and the large bobbins. My only complaint is that the sliding hook flyer is a bit of an adjustment for me - it doesn't slide quite as smoothly as I'd like, and sometimes the yarn wraps around the guide a bit. Otherwise this is a great all-around wheel."

This wheel was easy to
"This wheel was easy to put together even though it was different from my kromski wheel. Informative directions. Nice and smooth to spin with, though the yarn guides are a bit odd to slip along as you add yarn on the bobbin. Carry bag is nice when moving it about. I'm pleased with my purchase."

So convenient! I take this
"So convenient! I take this wheel with me everywhere: upstairs, downstairs even to the park! I've only spun on the electric eel nano before so I can't compare to other spinning wheels but it's been a great experience spinning with this."

Super wheel
"This wheel is great! For context, I'd never spun anything before in my life, except for trying a drop spindle and realizing that wasn't going to happen. ever. I did watch videos while waiting for delivery, which was very fast, even during the holidays. Assembly was easy and the Woolery staff were friendly and knowledgeable when I called to ask about which oil I could use (sewing machine). My very first frankenstein yarn, made with the fiber that came with it for free, was 'unique' but knitted up into a very funky hat. Within days I was making yarn that is quite regular and knitting up into a very nice sweater. I found that the brake adjustment was really easy to tweak to a level that seemed to be working for me. The built-in lazy kate works well for plying. The wheel is compact and comfortable to use while sitting on the couch. The treadles fold up easily so I can just slide it against the wall to keep it out of the way when not in use. I did make a dust cover to protect it from the dogs, though I imagine the quality backpack would be handy for taking it places. It's very portable but stable. Also very quiet - there's a little clacking noise sometimes but not loud enough to interfere with the TV. I've had to expand my yarn stash storage to accommodate my new fiber habit as I'm always wanting to spin more. I look forward to many years of actually learning technique and producing interesting yarns on this wheel."

in LOVE with this wheel
"I ordered this wheel for myself as a birthday present. It actually arrived on my birthday, too! This wheel really is a Joy to spin on. It is very quiet, which is great for spinning with the TV on. I also love the portability of this wheel and look forward to one day (when we can all safely travel again) taking it with me on adventures!"

First of all, I was
"First of all, I was totally amazed at how quickly I received my Joy 2 coming all the way from New Zealand! It was very easy to assemble, looks stunningly beautiful, and so very quiet. Now I just need to learn how to actually spin. I have to say that several utube videos out there are useless when it comes to a novice like myself. But hands on helpers in my fibre group are making this come to reality. I love that this Joy 2 is so easily carted around. It’s been in and out of my car lickety split. A very well made spin wheel that will keep me very busy this winter."
