Knitting Needles — Single-Point, Double-Point & Circular Needles, Sets & Accessories

Knitting needles are the primary tool used in hand knitting to cast on, form stitches, and bind off yarn into fabric. The Woolery carries knitting needles in all three configurations, across a full range of sizes, lengths, and materials, available individually and in sets.

Type of knitting needles:

Double-pointed (DPN) Pointed at both ends: used in sets of 3, 4, or 5: typically 5-8 inches Small circumference knitting in the round: socks, hats, sleeves, and gloves
Circular Two pointed tips connected by a flexible cable Flat or in-the-round knitting, large circumference projects like sweaters, shawls, blankets
Interchangeable circular Needle tips that detach from the cable; tips and cables sold separately or in sets Versatile use across multiple project sizes and needle sizes

Knitting needle sizes

Knitting needles are sized by shaft diameter in millimeters (mm), ranging from 1.5mm (lace weight) to 25mm and above (super bulky). US needle sizes run from US 000 to US 50. Always match needle size to your yarn weight and check your pattern's recommended gauge because needle size directly affects stitch size and finished dimensions.
